I bought this for my 6 year old who is 57 lbs and 49 inches. It was too tight in the pants but the right length and too tight around his waist. I would go for the 00 for his size (I got the 000). I'm keeping it for my daughter one day but it's a good gi for kids. Just remember that my son was 57 lbs and 49 inches and it was too small. Better buy the bigger size and alter it or roll the sleeves and pants.
