I personally thought that this sword ROCKS! (why'd i just say sword?) the thing has held up pretty well, and i've had it for well over a year. then again, i'm no martial artist. But i did let one of my friends that's probably stronger than you are attack a tree with it. the tree came off worse for wear than the bokken. if it's a little heavy for you, then use it! you'll get used to it, and just think: if you own a lighter (real) sword, you'll be that much faster with it!
