Bow type

I am just beginning the study of staff. Am an older adult. What type of bow is best?

Well, there are two main staff types Bo and Jo. Jo is 4.18 feet long and can be referred to as the short staff. The Bo is longer as it is around six feet. If you use a Jo at your school get a Jo for home. Next you need to find the weight you desire. Lighter staffs are great for katas but break easier in combat and vice versa. So it depends on what your school can teach you and how you use the bow.
