Customer Review of the Longer Lasting Bokken

Nothing Better

My friend and I each bought one a few months ago. The bokken is formed using layers upon layers of polypropylene, so instead of breaking, the bokken VERY gradually peels off in paper thin flakes of plastic (mine has yet to peel at all). This is the most durable practice weapon you can buy and it's well worth the extra money over wood. I've done full contact sparring and stage fighting with this weapon and it has but a few dents and nicks in the ''blade.'' To prove it's durability, I've hit concrete edges with full strikes to find no significant damage to the bokken. It's very very flexible, and very light (like a real katana) This thing is virtually indestructible. The only downside is a slippery handle (which can be fixed with rough gaffer's tape) and an unnatural feel that you would otherwise get with hardwood bokkens. I wouldn't recommend anything else.
