It's very thick. Hard to tie the knot. The belt should be ordered a size up. The knot comes undone for anything more rigorous than kata, like sparring. But, I really like my belt. It's beautiful and works for me, since I got it a size above, like the others suggested.

The gi top is exactly the right size for me, the pants are a little long, but can be shrunk. The material is very high end, nice and heavy. It's not as flimsy as a t-shirt, and not as stiff as a 12 oz. heavy weight, it's just right. And the black is really black. I haven't washed it yet, but I suggest Woolite dark in cold water and drip dry to avoid bleeding and shrinkage. I love this gi!
