Exercise for Parkinson's Disease

I am a strong, active 82 year old woman. People are amazed at what I do with gardening--digging, hauling, etc. I have been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. Someone who has the same condition said that the best exercise for Parkinson's is a punching bag. Obviously I won't be hitting it as hard as a man would. Is this a good idea? Since I won't hit very hard, would it be safe for me? Are boxing gloves necessary?

Great to hear you are still so active Phylgene - you are an example for the rest of us!

First I'd like to state that I have no medical qualifications for recommending exercise. Be sure to consult your physician. Secondly, I think the bag at this link: tr-bg-770 would be even better for you. A little more resistance and reliability. You won't have to swing quite as wildly at it.

I also do recommend some gloves. Something like these would be a fine choice: bx-gl-210, protective, and easy to take on and off.
