I own a katana which isn't a cheap knock off. This longer lasting bokken is lighter and has a longer handle by at least an inch which is a big difference to me. If you were to go up against a wooden bokken or katana, you would have an advantage of speed if you were equally as skilled. Now this all seems like a great idea, but I want some thing more realistic. Only buy it if your going against the same bokken by cold steel and just want to joke around.

I have mixed feelings with these bokkens. Every one is weighted different. I have owned 5 and a friend also has one so I know they aren't weighted equally. It seems the heavier they are, the Bokkens last longer. I only have one left that hasn't been cracked. Some times you get a good one and others you don't. They have always lasted five half hour sessions at the very least. Two have lasted me over a year.
