I bought this pair of gloves for sparring and grappling but I found them good enough to use on a heavy bag, too. I was surprised by their excellent quality, especially considering how much they cost. My sparring partners are happy with the thick front padding and I feel my wrists are free to apply swift chin'nas and mantis locks. I also apply Eagle Claw grabs and the finger openings are really comfortable and flexible. The material is very breathable and it proved itself very durable too [ I waited about 5 months before writing this review, as usually I destroy everything with in the third month of use]. I am very satisfied with this purchase
