If you don't want to spend (or don't have) the $150+ for the best of the best Gi, this one will suit you well. If this will be your first heavy gi, it's outstanding.
I've had another of this same gi for about a year and aside from normal staining, you'd think it's new. There's no ripping or seam tearing or fraying. It's very tough and heavy, perhaps too heavy for some (I love it), but the thickness is great for absorbing sweat. It doesn't stick to you like a thin gi.
It's heavy enough for some judo or jujutsu cross training and makes a nice ''snap'' when you throw a good punch or kick. The ties are still in perfect shape, which are usually the first thing to go on a cheap gi, in my experience.
Expect the normal shrinkage you'd get with any 100% cotton gi, so buy a size bigger, and I think it starts off ''not so soft'' on the skin, but basically I can't recommend this gi highly enough.
