This shoe's innovative design makes it a great choice for everything from forms to full-force sparring. The shoe is constructed of lightweight material making it comfortable and flexible for forms and training, but it is layered with protective padding making it a great replacement for traditional sparring footwear. The Ringstars can be worn either with or without the included laces. The laces can also be covered by a padded velcro flap that adds additional protection to the shoe. The sneaker-like design of the Ringstar covers the whole foot, reducing hygiene concerns and increasing the protection provided by the shoe. This shoe comes in mens sizes. Thaiboxers - kick hard with these shoes! Ringstars provide awesome padding against hard bags and are excellent for ease of pivoting for proper kick technique and I can wear them to spar! Shoes provide me the ability to wear socks to wick away moisture from my feet and avoid fungus often picked up from the mat when barefoot. The shoes do tend to stick a bit when practicing forms, but not enough to be a nuisance. The only downfall I've found is the toes of my shoes wear out too fast; however, I seen the new & improved Ringstars that have more of a lip on the toe & appear to have improved on that complaint. These are the only shoes I'll wear to train. Permalink

These shoes really help protect my feet. My toes were always getting injured during sparring. Now I never have an issue of injury and much better support for jumping and landing. Another great thing is no more funky feet from the dojo floor. I wear clean white socks and have not had any foot issues. The shoes do grip the floor a bit too much at first but now they are just right. I am 51 years old and do not kick much during sparring so these shoes provide great foot support for my punches. Its been almost a year that I've had these shoes and I'm still kicking in them. The only problem I'm having with them is that the rubber is starting to come off from the bottom exposing the internal stitching but then again I have had them for a year and this just recently happened...another issue is that the toe isn't padded as well however its padded enough to not do that much damage to anyone in a controlled environment. Also it leaves a few marks on the floor but its nothing that cant be cleaned up to easily. They grip very well but it makes it difficult for spin kicks and really anything that u would have to rotate a foot on, however if you wear them enough the grip will wear down enough to make it easier to rotate. One tip with it is definitely WEAR SOCKS, THEY WILL SMELL HORRIBLE AND STINK UP EVERYTHING IF YOU DONT!!! Permalink

They fit nice and snug and comfortable. Coverage in the toe area is a little light but not bad. Overall protection for the instep is very, very good and that was what I was looking for. You can hit something fairly solid and they take the blow and don't put it thru to your instep bruising it. They are light in weight and have a good texture for gripping the floor. The bottom almost grips to well making spinning moves more awkward and necessary to relearn some spinning moves such as spinning back kicks and spin hooks. They are lightweight and that is a great feature as well. All in all a good buy for the money. Permalink

I've purchased several brands of sparring shoes and these are by far the best. They are comfortable, light-weight, and the only punishment to be had is on the receiving end. To top it all off, they look great! Permalink

These shoes are great to spar in. They have good weight and they don't slip off your foot if they get stepped on. They are actually called ringstars in case anyone is wondering. However the one flaw about them is that the toe isn't padded to well. Other then that its very comfortable and are very durable. Permalink

Black Marks - Soles came out

The first time these were put on the sole inserts came out. Trying to put them back in is very difficult because they are very spongy. You would think that would have kept them from coming out in the first place but it didn't.
Also, the first time they were worn at the gym they left black marks all over the mats. NON-Marking soles would have been a better choice.
That said, the shoes are very comfortable and bouncy. Permalink
