A few months back I order a set of sai from here, and there were fantastic to say the least. Alas, however I had ordered a round set (not that there is anything wrong with the round one) versus an octagonal set.

Well, I decided to sell the round ones to a person ( a Kung Fu practioner) that wanted a set of sai to display. That gave me the freedom to replace mine so I order a new set. The box arrived and I unpacked them to my dismay the box was marked octagonal, but inside were a set of round ones. I called up customer service and they immediately corrected the problem with a RMA shipping tag to send the intial set back, and shipped the correct set without any problems.

They are even better than I could of expected. The chrome shines like new money, the balance is there, and they handle very well. I have to take my hat of to KarateDepot and its staff, they stand by what they sell!!

I want to say thanks to them for being a stand up company and for taking care of this customer in the biggest way possible. Making and order right, and not taking forever to get the job done!

These are just what they are implied to be RUBBER PRACTICE SAI! They are useful for working out the movements, but I have to agree with other reviewers. These could have been just a bit less pliable. They bend just a little too much, so I'm looking for a way to beef them up a bit, without adding too much weight and still keeping them safe to use. Sai movements require wrist snaps in lots of cases, and these things are way floppy when used in that manner. Still they serve a purpose. I don't have to grab real sai every time I want to practice. Also for what you get they should probably cost a bit less. 18 dollars is a bit too much to ask for these in my opinion because they are so floppy/pliable. The manufacturer needs to think about a different approach to making these as well if they plan to keep selling these.

I was looking forward to the arrival of my sai case, and at fist glance it looks to be a pretty decent case for the money spent. I how ever found that it has some design flaws after a closer examination.

1. The zipper is hard to use at the point the case it fully opened. There is a hump that was in the zipper that was attached to my case and because of it being there the zipper is almost impossible to engage. I found myself pinch the case side to take the pressure off the zipper to be able to close the case each time after opening it.

2. Once the dagger (sai) are inside the case and you use the zipper to close the case, it becomes deformed. The daggers cause my case to take on a wavy rippled look, instead of a nice even uniform look that one would expect after closing the case.

3. This one is a personal preference. The handles on the case could stand to lose and couple inches off their length. They are way too long in my opinion I'm going to modify mine by overlapping some of the handle's cloth and stitching to a length that is more to my liking. With the carrying handles as the are now the case feels like a swinging pendulum.


A wider zipper might solve the problem of the case not holding its shape while it has sai in the holders with the case closed.

Have to give kudos to KarateDepot. I ordered and they shipped my items within less than 7 hours of my order being placed. They acknowledged my order at 9:27 am, and sent me confirmation of shipping at 2:22 pm the very same day.

Very efficient in my opinion..
