We bought this as a spare last year to carry with us to tournaments. Nice, sturdy finish with a satisfying impact sound. We've seen focus pads with hand-protection built-in, but found those somewhat clumsy. Sometimes, the simple tools are the most effective...!

My son uses these kneepads in both training and competition. It provides enough cushioning for contact, with ample flexibility for movement. The fabric tends to absorb sweat pretty readily though -- occasional wash is needed or the pads get a bit rank.
