This patch (and not the smaller version) is the one to attach to the left chest of your gi. The patch is sturdy and somewhat brighter than the picture shown on the website. The patch resists fading well and does not bleed / stain the gi when it is washed.

This is an excellent product. The pictures on the website make the XP Series look bulkier and heavier than it really is. It is actually light and does not restrict movement. I own the ProForce Lightning Deluxe Chest guard as well, and while it is a good product too, the XP Series Hogu has two advantages. First, the you can put on the XP Series Hogu by yourself - most other chest guards have straps or ties in the back that require assistance from someone else. Second, the XP Series provides much more comprehensive protection around the lower ribs / kidneys due to its shape. As far as sizing goes, I am a male, 5'11'' and 170 lbs, and the size Large fits properly.
