These gloves are nicely constructed with solid materials and a tight hold around the hand and wrists. But there is surprisingly thin padding! Your opponents better be wary of eating your punches. Plus, there's almost nothing protecting the wrist area. These gloves would definitely have rated higher if it was more thickly padded. Idea for light- to medium-sparring matches that involve trapping, grappling or clutching.

For the hardcore Kali or Escrima player, these sticks might disappoint you. They are overly lightweight, not particular dense, and seem fragile. They also lack any nodes, which is ideal. Surprisingly, they're durable. At least for now. After an hour of stick work, they were only slightly dented and have yet to splinter or break. And because they are light, they're easier to carry and handle in smaller hands. These sticks are ideal for beginner Filipino combative students, kids or smaller adults. For the price, they are of decent value.
