Like the other review says, this is a great chest protector.


I haven't owned any others, but I looked at one at a store that lays out straight like a board, and it seems like it would be a real pain to put on. Like the other review says, this is easy to put on. You just pull it over the top or pull it up, pull the two straps in the back down tight, and tie them in front.


The internal plate covers your chest, abdomen, and ribs.


I'm 5''8' and the medium/large fits good and doesn't really restrict my movement.  Permalink

This is an excellent product. The pictures on the website make the XP Series look bulkier and heavier than it really is. It is actually light and does not restrict movement. I own the ProForce Lightning Deluxe Chest guard as well, and while it is a good product too, the XP Series Hogu has two advantages. First, the you can put on the XP Series Hogu by yourself - most other chest guards have straps or ties in the back that require assistance from someone else. Second, the XP Series provides much more comprehensive protection around the lower ribs / kidneys due to its shape. As far as sizing goes, I am a male, 5'11'' and 170 lbs, and the size Large fits properly.  Permalink
