I purchased a martial arts sparring helmet for my 11 month old son who kept hitting his head on hard surfaces/corners/protrusions while learning to become more mobile (crawling, standing up, falling over often). It works wonderfully. I especially like that it is lightweight and has openings that allow for ventilation. He doesn't mind it at all, and it is easy to take on and off. Thank you so much for saving my little guy from lots of knots, bruises, and scratches he'd otherwise be covered with! He has fallen over backwards in the kitchen and whacked his head on the tile floor, but had the helmet on so no problem.

got gear for my daughter. the service and shipping from KarateDepot was great. the headgear runs a little small, couldn't return it because she had a match the next day and she had to use it as it was.  Permalink

I got this headgear for my son who just outgrew his last set of gear, This is great for him it is much softer than the century headgear that he used to use. He also is autistic so the harder headgear made him uncomfortable and had small ear holes. He describes this Headgear as his pillow head gear because it is so soft and comfortable. He will actually spar now in class without fighting to take his helmet off all the time. When I mention that this gear is softer I wan't to let you know that it also affords the same protection that the top of the line gear provides. Also the softer padding seems to keep the covers from cracking like normal gear.  Permalink

I purchased a full set of Kuma Gear in yellow (headgear, kicks, mouthguard & hand punch)for my 6 year old son. The gear fits and works very well. Karate Depot's sizing charts is great. I was able to mis an match the different gear sizes I needed. I would recommend this site in a heartbeat for good quality products at a great price especially for a growing child.  Permalink

I recently purchased a full set of Kum Gear (headgear, kicks, mouthguard & hand punch)for my grandson for Christmas. I git this to replace my Macho headgear, which started to split after about a year. the Macho headgear ran small in size based on my measurements, but I took a chance and bought the same size from Kuma. The Kuma of the same size fits WAY better and I suspect will not split as quickly since it's not nearly as tight. Only time will tell, but happy so far!   Permalink

It fits perfectly and yet I'm only a white belt, the first time I sparred against a green belt, I bet him 4 to 5 with the help of the equipment. It was a very low price because if you go to somewhere else it would be around a min. of $30 and the highest I've seen around was $90 which I don't have the budget to be getting stuff THAT expensive.   Permalink

I purchased these for my 5 year old. This is his first fighting gear and he loves it. I don't think I would get this for a teenager or adult. Not because it is not made well, but the texture seems plastic coated foam.  Permalink
