Did the boil and fit process 4 times and this mouthgaurd still did not fit properly, falls right off of my son's upper teeth. shockdoctor.com was unwilling to give me a refund, only an exchange (didn't want another shock doctor product since this one was terrible). Do not buy! Permalink

This is a great mouth guard. I play rugby and this was a good way to test out it's durability. I was kicked in the face, stepped on the face and every bad thing rugby can do to your face and not one tooth came out. Like the other comment said, when sizing make sure you size its just right, its a bit tricky. Permalink

Okay, first of all don't forget to boil it. I was in a karate tournament recently and I had to forfeit the match because I ran off the mats, the mouthguard triggered my gag reflexs and....I don't feel the need to continue. But after boiling the mouth guard which i had neglected to do, matches were much easier. I also reccomend the Shock Doctor Ultra STC. All Shock Doctor mouth guard products above $15 seem to have un beatable protection. Permalink

I have been ordering from karatedepot happily for several years. This time, I ordered the Shock Doctor, size Youth, since my kid is 11.5 y.o. What I received was a nice piece but for very young youths. The label says <10 y.o. but the website does not. Permalink

I bought a couple of these for my grandsons ages 7 and 12 and they were too small for either one of them! I wish that they had other sizes besides youth and adult!!! Or perhaps there was insufficient sizing info. Permalink

I moved to New Zealand from the UK last year and wanted to get back in to Tae Kwon Do so needed some new kit. I have bought this along with a new number of other products, all of which have been great. Make sure you follow the fitting instructions and you can't go wrong. Fits really nicely and gives great protection. Permalink

It's nice how you can custom-fit this to your teeth (by putting it in boiling water), but I found it too big for my mouth (too long), sticking out uncomfortably in the front, and causing vomiting reflex on the other side... Permalink

My son is always complaining that his mouth guard hurts his basic mouth when he is sparring at karate. I bought two of these based on the description and customer reviews and I'm completely satisfied. No more complaints while sparring. Thanks Shock Doctor! Permalink

This is a great mouth guard for everyone. It was extremely easy to size even if you normally wear partials. Remove them when sizing and it will fill in the space. lol I have not been hit in the mouth with it yet but I am not worried it will hold up I am sure. Permalink

This mouth guard is the best mouth for it's price because of it's comfort and how it fits into your mouth. The mouth guard comes in the package not fitting at all, however if you bother to read the directions you put it in boiling water and it will get really soft. So you can mold it into any shape you want, or you can bite down on it and make a perfect cast of your teeth in the mouth guard. The mouth guard is comfortable and fits very well. A great buy and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is getting into sparring, football, etc. Permalink

This is a very good guard while being priced in the ''easily replaceable'' category. My daughter is a mouthguard 'chewer' and this offers superior protection with a price that makes it easy to buy several at a time for replacement. At least for her, they are soft enough to be worn down by her teeth clenching during sparring. They still have my highest award. The 4 stars is for a little lack of durability, but that is to be expected. It is harder to find a better mouthguard and I have tried LOTS of THEM! Permalink

I've tried a variety of mouthguards, and despite fitting and trimming, my gums often end up with gashes. With this guard, the gel is against my gums so they don't get cut, and because the gel forms to my teeth better than with other guards, the guard stays in quite well. Permalink
