The Warrior line of sparring gear features a double layer foam protection which gives martial artists even more safety when sparring. The Warrior Headgear has patented ear release canals. Why? If you were to get a blow to the head, there's a chance the hit can seal your ear and compress the excess air down the ear canal - which could rupture your eardrum. The canal gives the air an escape route and protects your hearing.

Measure the circumference of the head at about an inch above the eyebrows to determine your proper headgear size. It's easy! Wrap a string around your head and measure the string.

Punch

To determine correct size, measure the distance across the lowest knuckles (the knuckles you punch with) of the 4 upper fingers (all the fingers except the thumb). Measure by laying knuckles flat on a ruler.

I got this set to replace my old set (ProForce Lightning) when the straps began to fall off. I picked this set out because it had the extra padding, looked cooler, and only cost a little bit more. I'm also hoping that the straps will hold out a little longer this time. I've been very satisfied so far with the set, and karatedepot's price is great. Everything fits very snugly, which is great (my old set was too large for me and my gear would often fly off during sparring). However; I find the actual sizing to be a bit smaller than the chart indicates. I bought everything in size Adult Small (I'm a petite girl), and I am even smaller than the measurements given in the chart. And yet all the gear is very snug, especially the headgear. So, if your size is on the borderline, I would recommend getting the larger size (ESPECIALLY the headgear). Permalink

I just bought two sets of this gear; one for my 9 year old son, and one for my 6 year old daughter. The gear is great! It fits well, and is very well made. I will be getting myself a set very soon. One bit of advice. If your feet are at the higher end of a size, and wide, buy the next size up. My son's kicks are a bit snug. Permalink

My son has been involved in Martial Arts for approximately 5 years. We have tried other gear just for kicks and we have always gone back to Warrior. There is not a better gear on the market. Also, we have ordered lots of gear and additional items from Karate Depot and the shipping rate is wonderful and the quick turnaround is a plus! Permalink

I just ordered 2 complete sets for my daughter Age 8 and myself. The order was delivered faster than expected. I used the sizing chart and it was right on, everything fit perfectly. There is a difference between Macho's Rival and Warrior Sparring Gear. However thanks to Karate Depot you should buy the Warrior sparring gear because it's very affordable. I feel very comfortable sparring with this gear. Permalink

This is really good gear. It's my first set, but I've used the extra gear my insturctor has and this is way better. It's also a really good price on this site, my instructor asked how much I payed for it and he was supprized when I told him. Permalink

Every Thursday at karate, I usually spar. When I used this set for the first time, I was really surprised when I got hit in the head and felt almost nothing, thanks to the extra padding design. Permalink

Great set - except for the hands

I love this set except for the finger grips at the top of the hand set. The grips themselves are a little weak compared to others that I've tried, and my index finger and pinky finger almost slide out of the open slots.

Other than that, this is a really solid set that makes you feel protected. It's nice and comfortable (as far as sparring gear goes).

If you want a more solid mouth guard to go with the set, I highly recommend any of Shock Doctor's mouthguards with the gel lining. Your teeth will feel as cushioned as the rest of your body. If you take a hit to the face/mouth, your teeth aren't going anywhere with that baby on to protect you! Permalink

This stuff is really great. Not only does it look really cool but it also protects very well. Going at it with my friend (who has a similar set) is great because we can really let loose. Of course we do get bruises and sore spots but that's just where the stuff doesn't cover (shins, arms, etc.). This is really a good product and I would recommend nothing less to people who are really serious about full contact sparring. Permalink

This is my first set of Macho Warrior sparring gear. I have given some hard kicks and punches as well as taken in numerous hard blocks. I have seen no wear or tear to the gear and I feel well protected. It is comfortable, wears true to size and is easy to maintain. My daughter uses the Macho Warrior Patriot gear and we have no complaints on either set. Macho brand has outdone itself again. I will never buy anything other than MACHO. Permalink

My son started Karate lessons this year. I didn't know anything about sparring gear, so I researched reviews on the internet and decided to order this set from Karate Depot. I also ordered the matching shin guards. My son used them in class last night and said that he felt that his set was more protective than the gear the other kids had.
