-Had issues with keeping all items secured. Helmet has easily pulled off during clinching/grappling. Gloves are a bit loose to.
Body protection fasteners have broke.

Overall a good product which I used in an MMA setting which is why I am sure I had issues mentioned in the cons section. I am sure for regular karate type stuff it is fine. I would recommend.  Permalink

I recently received the Warrior/Macho full sparring gear set for my 11 year old and found the gear to be of nice quality and fit. I am in the process of ordering the gear bag and 2 additional sets for some friends in our TKD class. Best price around, great service and delivery! Highly recommended.  Permalink

The karate class my daughter attends was out of stock of their sparring equipment and had told us that the equipment was on back order. My daughter had just become eligible to start sparring and was disappointed. I headed for the internet. After an exhaustive search of about a dozen on-line vendors, I chose this package from Karate Depot. Boy were we ever impressed with what we got. Pictures are OK to get an idea of what the items are, but when we got these items and got to compare these with the equipment the other kids had, we were amazed. This set is by far a better set in terms of quality of construction and ease of use than any other child had. After talking to a number of parents I also learned that the price of this set was about 50% less than they had paid for theirs. You just can't beat that: best stuff, lowest price. I expect some of the parents that have not yet gotten equipment for their kids will be heading for this site. I also had a positive experience with Karate Depot's customer service. There was a minor issue with the original order I placed on-line. They called me early the next day, told me what the issue was and what they were going to do to resolve it. They did everything they said they would do, and I got the merchandise when they said I would. All in all, a very good transaction PS -my daughter kicked butt in her first sparring session yesterday.  Permalink

My family and I have used this site on a few occasions. They are very reliable and have great quality products for low prices. I would recommend this site to anyone needing to purchase Karate gear. My sons last set, which I bought from Karate Depot "Kuma", lasted him for almost 4 YEARS. He goes to Karate 5 days a week, so thats a lot of use! It still looks brand new, just a tad to small. haha I just upgraded him for Christmas and ordered the "Macho" which is much more popular with the kids. Happy shopping to all!  Permalink

The gear is awesome. Macho Warrior gear is excellent. The sizing guide was very accurate for all pieces except the chest gear. I wear a size 5 gi and the large chest protector was WAY too small.

The price was the best you will likely find. I'm very pleased with the value.

I ordered the gear with standard shipping and 7 days after I had ordered, it still hadn't shipped. They said the mouthpiece case was backordered and they would ship out the rest of the gear right away (which they did). I got the set the next day. Cheers!

The mouthpiece case was not in the order and it shows it has shipped. I doubt I will get it, which is unfortunate.  Permalink

I ordered the sparring gear on Oct. 8th and still have NOT rec'vd all of the pieces I ordered [today is Nov. 1st]. I had to send back the chest protector, it was too small...even though I measured my son correctly. The mouth piece does not fit correctly. The cup supporter is still NOT in and they don't know when they will have it to ship. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. I was very disappointed in the help I rec'vd from this company. My son likes what little gear he did get, when it finally arrived. I paid extra for quick shipping and it did not ship out. Everytime I called they had an excuse. They did return my shipping money, but alot of good that does when my son really wanted his gear for class ! I would think twice before placing an order OR just try ordering 6 months ahead of time and maybe you will get it by the time you need it.  Permalink

The helmet is great! And I feel comfortable and protected. However, the kicks are horrible. I feel very restricted and uncomfortable in them. They limit my kicking which isn't too good in sparring. The hand guards are ok and pretty comfortable, but the holders aren't too good as everybody said.

However, I'm waiting on my Chestguard which got back ordered. :(
I thought it would ship immediately. But in all I can't wait!

Even with some of the little problems, what topped it off so far is the customer service! It's great and very helpful unlike some I have experienced shopping online. I will defiantly order from here again.   Permalink

We've been happily buying Macho Warrior products for 5 years for our son. Unfortunately, the last set we bought is made in China, not in USA anymore. The problem is that they use cheaper plastic finish, so the gear slides off hands and feet. Is there anyway to buy US made Macho Warrior product?  Permalink

Picked up this set for my first sparring tournament and it served me well. People's comments about the glove finger holds are true, but the headgear is simply first rate. Well worth picking up!  Permalink

The only reason I post a 5-star rating is because there's not a 10-star rating. I bought the Warrior Full set for my 6-year-old son and he is now the envy of his TKD class. It fits him just fine without being too big and there's still room to grow. I've referred a number of folks to KarateDepot.com and told them how satisfied I am with the products, price, and service. The Warrior set is intelligently designed, easy to put on, and safe for my son. I attached a quick-release Fastex buckle and 2 sliders to the chest protector. Instead of tying a knot every time and hoping it stays tied, it now goes on in 3 seconds flat and stays secure. When he outgrows his current set, I'll come back here for the next one.  Permalink

This is my first set of Macho Warrior sparring gear. I have given some hard kicks and punches as well as taken in numerous hard blocks. I have seen no wear or tear to the gear and I feel well protected. It is comfortable, wears true to size and is easy to maintain. I bought the chest protector in a youth for my daughter. It is easy on/off and she feel comfortable and protected while in her gear. My daughter uses the Macho Warrior Patriot gear and we have no complaints on either set. Macho brand has outdone itself again. I will never buy anything other than MACHO.   Permalink

I bought this set for myself and I was amazed of what you get for the price you pay. It was delivered to my door and when I opened it up it was Christmas! All the items were more then what expected. I utilized this set recently at a TKD Tournament and I received a lot of inquires about my gear. I just replied Karatedepot.com. I won't go anywhere else.



Only problem is that you can't buy the set for young-children. My son is 7 years of age and they don't make hand/feet small enough to get him the entire set. When he is big enough, you know I'll be back at Karatedepot.com to get the rest of his equipment.  Permalink
