Hi landrw. We recommend matching the size of these instep guards with that of your shinguards and footgear. That is to say, if you wear medium shinguards the medium insteps would be a good choice.

These are generally used in place of full on footpads, however they can be used in addition to provide more comprehensive coverage between the footpads and shinguards.
