They are well built and look like they should last awhile. The padding is adequate but they do have a little sting. They have a little less padding than my PF karate gloves but they actually are well padded for the overall size of the glove and their fit makes it pretty easy to grab your opponent which is the main reason for buying this style of glove. Sizing is a bit tricky. The regular size fit my buddy pretty well- he is 5'5" and 145 pounds with an average frame. They were really (really) tight on me- 5'5" and 175lbs with a pretty large bone structure (I think I wear a size 11 ring). Basically think of the regular as a medium.
