The cord length isn't a problem. if it's too short for you, change it.
Note : the standard size of rope or chain should be the width of your hand. Therefore, some people may find the rope just fine, or on the contrary too short or too long.

Hey. These traditional nunchuks are probably the best ones I ever used. I also find them much better than ball bearing chucks. They are practically noiseless and much less complex than the ball bearing ones. You can replace the rope easily. I recommend you change the rope when it's starting to show considerable wear. If you are looking for an all time reliable and lightweight nuncuck get this one. The octagonal shape is great in combat. This said, a heavier chuck is better for practicing since this one will feel like a feather after! Have fun ;)
