I consider myself picky about my belts; I like them longer, that hold their tie well, so I don't have to continually retie belt. This is a great satin belt. It will wear nicely as a black belt, it is long, and appears to hold tie. Very nice for the money. Permalink

satin black belt

I personally love this black belt, it is very thin and flimsy and just the right width, I prefer longer, hanging black belts as opposed to the traditional short, stiff black belt. I have used the Century black belts in the past and found that they are very stiff and thick. If you want a black belt that hangs nicely and is soft and moves when you move then this is the black belt for you. Great price, shipped very quickly too. (easily embroidered on also) and if you want it to hang then order a size above your uniform size or typical belt size. Permalink

It wasn't what I hoped for...

I bought this belt and was disappointed. I like the belt's lightness and the fact that it stayed tied the first time and everytime. If you like them long, definitely order up one size. However, unless the belt I received was defective, it is only 1 1/2" wide, narrower than any of my other rank belts or the black belts that I have in other styles. I hemmed and hawed about returning it until it was to late to order another belt and have it for my BB ceremony. I will probably order another belt soon. Permalink

It looks very well made, I plan on buying it in a few more months. you don't necessarily have to be a black belt you can just play around and make your buddies believe you are one. lol. Permalink

I completely agree with hotvanessahudgens. I have a dojo in Denver and I tell my students that even when challanged in converstion about martial theory that it is better to say that you know a little bit about the subject and blow them away than to "claim" Blackbelt level and get your tush handed to you.
