The product description above says "This uniform has been known to shrink up to two sizes after washing." Now I have no idea what size to buy? I am 5'10" and 168 lbs. Worried that if I buy a size 4 that it may be too small.

Hey Atkins. The shrinking issue is true so you have to be careful. I recommend washing it in warm water and letting it hang dry. If you do that you can avoid most shrinking issues.

With that in mind, you could wear a 4 or 5 comfortably. If this jacket doesn't contain the proper size availability, check the rest of our heavyweight gi here: http://www.karatedepot.com/heavyweight-karate-uniform.html.

I'm quite happy with this gi. I bought a black one about a year ago and I've been using it three to four times a week. I'm a pretty big guy, and this gi has survived grappling sessions. I'm currently buying a white one to complement the black one I've been using.

    Worst gi I ever owned!

When I recieved this gi it looked pretty good. The fit was also better than most. Then I washed it. I followed the directions exactly. It was a wrinkled mess. The wrinkles couldn't even be ironed out. I called Century and they admitted having complaints and told me a different way to wash it. No help. This gi is completely unwearable, unless you can show up at your dojo looking like you slept in your gi.

how can you wash something come right out of the wash and be unable to iron it out? I have never... NEVER had that problem with any kind of material. You shake it out while it's damp, smooth it flat and hang it to dry. Steam iron heavy fabric if wrinkled, and then dry iron with starch for crispness. Cold wash only, do not dry in machine.

    New Top

I have found the century gi jackets to be the best fitting and crisp looking. As I am 5'5 140lbs, A size 3 fits perfectly after it shrank some after it's first wash.

    Great Jacket

I bought the white traditional jacket. I like it way more than the jacket from my middleweight gi. Heavyweight cotton is the way to go. Don't waste your money on the cheap cotton/poly middleweight. This heavyweight one is great.
