Need a new Gi for AOK

Hi, I've heard great things so far about this particular Gi. Im 176lbs Lean built. and Im 6'2 what size would be cool for me ?? Permalink

I think the same as fuji - a more form fit for 5, with some comfort space in a 6.

Great quality, even greater fit!

Mizuno has always been a staple gi in Judo circles, and given that I much prefer tournament cuts over traditional I went ahead and tried this gi out. I am 5'7" and 175 athletically built and the size 4 fit me perfectly.

The gi provides excellent feedback snap, and it's cut at just the right length. The only downside is that it's not preshrunk, and so you have to make sure to wash cold/cold and lay it or hang it to dry...being sure to iron it before hand. Even doing that, mine shrunk a tad, but still fits great for me. No more rolling up my sleeves or hemming up the pants!

Please help!

My Daughter needs a Gi! She is about 4'5'' she has a BudoNord Heavy weight size 1. She likes it but wishes the Jacket was longer without getting wider. The size 1 is almost too short but its is really still big in the underarms. It doesnt have to be heavy weight more of a everyday/kumite gi is fine. Just needs to be longer Jacket without buying something that needs to be altered. Tournament cut prob best. Any suggestions? Thanks Permalink

Hi Shotokan. Unfortunately I'm not familiar with the way BudoNord cuts their gi, which means I can't give a concrete answer as to how the other gi compare.

The best I can do is assure that if you try something like Mizuno and don't feel it suits her needs we will arrange an exchange or refund for you.

I'm 6'1/2" tall your chart says I'm a 6.5 is that correct? Also does this gi come in black and what do your readers mean when they say "leave off sign" Permalink

Hi Ralph. Depending on the weight situation, you'd be fine with a size 6 too. I'm not certain with the reviewer is referring to with 'leave off sign'.

Sizing and the Fat Man

I am thinking about moving up to a tournament cut heavyweight gi and had a few ?'s . I ordered the student uniform from KD size 7 and had to hem the pants quite a bit. I am 5'6" and weigh 275, and have a 44" waist. Will a size 4 gi fit me as I see that the size chart says it will fit a 47" waist ? Permalink

Hey Mr. Breeze. I think you should play it safe and go with the size 5 here. a little extra space with only minimal hemming.
