      Single weave gi are very popular for both weekly training and competitions. The balance between light weight and durability make them desirable for high intensity workouts.

      This gi is constructed out of 100% cotton, providing comfort and breathability (be aware of potential shrinking in hot water washes). The gi top features rice grain pattern quilting with a diamond pattern along the skirt portion.

      The gi pants utilize reinforced, quilted knees to prevent common wear and tear during judo training.

    Fits Great

    A6 Fits great on me. 5'11 @ 265lbs, 42" waist. Definitely not a 90 degree weather Gi but it is comfortable.

    Although I didn't see when I purchased it, this does also come with a matching white belt. The belt didn't fit well enough for me when tying it, so I'd recommend a 44" waist belt if you're my size.

    About Size

    I'm 6'2" and I weight between 260 and 270. Pretty thick all-around. Waist is about 44". I'm wondering if I should go with the 6 or, since I don't see this Gi in a 7, perhaps order a different brand in a 7. Just don't want it to be too tight fitting.

    I'm 5'4 and chubs. Working on getting in shape with a Judo trainer. He thought a #4 because of my 42 waist. Is that right?

    I think a size 4 will be good for your weight, although you'll probably have to cuff/hem the sleeves and pant legs a little.

    For your height a size 3 would be perfect, although a bit baggy. A size 2 might be short at the cuffs and pant legs, but more appropriate width-wise.

    Right now we can't offer the pants and top separate. It's just a logistical hang up really. We're working on it, especially for judo because you never know when a tear might appear and it would be helpful to not have to order a whole new uniform.

    Great Gi

    This is a great beginner uniform. I use this for my Judo students in my Basic program. The gi wont last for years, but it's great for the beginner to start with. It is durable to withstand any throw we use and its soft enough not to create gi-burn.

    Sizing

    I am a TKD practitioner - 5'10" 240lb female. I generally wear a size 6/7 gi. Is there a difference in sizing for Judo gis?

    Hey Laura. At first judo gi tend to feel a bit bigger. They have a baggy cut to accommodate the kind of rolling you are doing. However they are also 100% cotton so they can shrink as well.

    I would say get a size 6 and if it's too baggy, give it a shrink.

    I'd recommend a size 6. You could try a size 5 but be careful not to shrink it too much in the wash!

    Compared to....

    Compared to the Karate 8.5 sz 9 how clos is the size 8. I know weird question but with some brands i'm a size 8 some i'm a size 9 hell one brand I was a 6.

    I'am 5'5 and about 155lbs. Which size would you recommend the 3 or the 4? I don't want it short but I don't want to feel like it is squeezing or that its way too baggy either.

    Size #3 would be best, although a touch baggy because you slide in on the lower end of that size frame. If you want one that's a little snug go with size #2.

    Height-wise you'll need a size #4, although it will be baggy on you at times. You could try for the size #3 to make it snugger, but the sleeves and leg cuffs might be a bit shorter than normal.

    Sizes

    I need 6 to 8 number 4's. How long until the gis are in stock? Run a judo/BJJ school and all my juniors wear and use this gi. Great product has lasted numerous competitions and training hours. Recommend this product and to anyone. Karate depot always ships fast and great customer service. Thanks!

    Great Gi

    I love this Gi! It's just the right weight, not so stiff that it takes a year to break in but sturdy enough to last. I ordered my first one about 3 years ago and it's still in great condition. The lapels are just starting to get a little frayed so I'm considering ordering another one. I love the lighter weight pants too, especially now that it's summer again. I also love the fact that it has an elastic waist with a tie. It's much more hassle free than my other more traditional gi with the heavy pull ties. I don't have to constantly fuss with my pants!

    Sorry thunder i'm not sure what you mean. All judo uniforms should have the capacity to cross one side over the other. They also should not have any ties on the inside. The uniform on this page will provide those things.

    Good stuff

    This was a good, rugged uniform for my 11-year old in his Aikido class. Sturdier than other uniforms I've seen in his class at a reasonable price. Karate Depot did a great job fulfilling the order as well.

    Hey ME. I would probably go with a size #4. The sleeves and pant legs may be just shy of full length for you, but I think you'll find it less cumbersome and baggy.

    Hi Mcken. Judo and karate gi actually have a couple of important differences that derive from their primary functions.

    Judo, as a sport, requires a lot of pulling, tugging, and gripping. As such, the fabric of the judo gi top is more cloth like and is very thick. The seams of a judo gi tend to be very reinforced because those are the areas that tear first. In addition, judo gi tops do not possess tie strings on the inside; the point being that tie strings would very quickly get torn off during randori.

    Karate gi tend to be snappier and a bit stiffer because karateka desire snap and feedback during techniques. Often snap is used to gauge the kime (or focus) of punches and kicks. Karate gi do contain ties on the inside in order to keep them in place as there is less concern for repeated grappling.

    Good Gi

    I purchased size 000 gi for my 5.5 year old son who started attending judo. The gi itself is very good but somehow the belt is a bit short for the size and therefore is a bit difficult to tie. (no my son is not fat...) To make sure I do not lose belt length in a tumble drier I dried it hanging with a weight, but it did not help... :-). Otherwise, the gi is very good and am planning to buy more in the future.

    You should never wash the belt, it washes away the knowledge. I also find that most people where 1 size bigger belt than gi.

    Nice GI for the money

    Very good GI for what you pay for it. My son likes this GI a lot for his Judo and Jujitsu classes (bought 3 different sizes over time).
    Shrank about 1 size, as I wash them in warm water and machine dry.

    Great quality and price. The material is thick and very comfortable. I needed a size between 3 and 4 so I bought a 4 and used hot water wash to shrink it down a little the first time and it now fits great. Highly recommended.

    Inbetween sizing

    I am wishing to purchase my own gi as right now, I am using one on rental but I am unsure what size to get. I am female, 189 lbs, 5'7", athletically built and have an approx. 33 inch waist. On the size guide, I am at the higher end of 4 but could possibly go 5. I have a size 5 now that I am using that is a double weave if that makes any difference. Should I go with a 4, or go with a 5 for possible shrinkage?

    This gi is made with 100% cotton, which means there will definitely be a little shrinkage involved. If you feel like your size 5 right now is a pretty good fit, I would go with 5 again.
