The KD Elite White Middleweight Karate Uniform is perfect for those seeking a traditional karate look with a softer, modern feel.

Sometimes heavyweight uniforms are just too much! When that happens, it's time to use subtlety and design to create a gi focused on usability. The KD Elite White Middleweight features an 8.5 ounce crossover style uniform with inner ties. This is a classic look for karate jackets and will be immediately familiar to anyone who has been training for awhile (and for those students just beginning, it's a snap to learn). Furthermore, the material blend (52% cotton, 48% polyester) is a careful mix that provides outstanding comfort. Stiffness is a thing of the past and shrinking is minimized for this gi.

Comfort is important, but so is durability. The White Middleweight features doubled lined, reinforced stitching on the collars and cuffs. Experienced martial artists will tell you that cuff stitching is critical for generating good snap and allows the uniform to survive countless techniques. The jacket collar is bound to be grabbed and handled throughout the course of training, so double stitching there helps prevent wear and tear. In addition, by providing extra panels in key locations such as the shoulders and crotch, the KD Elite allows for very natural movement and unhindered techniques.

A common complaint with very heavy uniforms is that they can become a burden after extensive training. Because of that, some martial artists choose to have a ceremonial heavy gi for certain occasions, and a lighter gi for continuous training. This uniform is designed for training and allows excellent breathability by means of side vents and lighter material. For the karate student who wishes to be unencumbered, the White Middleweight is a wise choice.

KD Elite has strategically designed each of there uniforms to provide maximum results with minimal financial investment. The White Middleweight Karate Uniform is the top choice for practitioners who want an outstanding combination of light weight feel with heavy weight punch.

KD Elite means Value. Get more than you expect with KD Elite martial arts equipment. Our student uniforms are just a bit heavier, our judo gis are stitched perfectly, and our shields take more punishment. Products that last - KD Elite.

This is an excellent value for beginning students or those looking for a quality, inexpensive middleweight gi. Don't waste your money on lightweight gis. This gi is crisp but lightweight, sturdy enough for hard training, and an excellent value for the money. This is the gi I recommend to all my students when buying their first uniform.

I like the feel and the fit. However, I'm not so keen on the seam in the front. It's on both sides (flaps) and starts about mid-chest or a little lower. It starts at the reinforced edge/trim area & goes straight down, so it's dead-center when you've tied the top & are fully dressed. With the belt on, it's a little visible above the belt and only really noticeable below the belt. It's what you get for paying less. You could consider it recycling/earth-friendly, I suppose. By having a seam, they can use some triangular fabric scraps that would other wise be discarded. I thought it would bug me, but when I thought about paying more to not have a seam on each flap, I decided to stick with it. As for sizing & quality, I agree w/others - you might want a size larger than normal if you're between sizes. Depending on who makes the gi, I can wear a 3 or a 4. This time I got the 4. Right now, it seems like it's slightly too big, but I figure washing will take care of that. It feels good, not cheap, and looks good in the mirror ('cept for that #$%^%#$ seam...). Not sure if will wear for kata tourneys...wonder if judges would look down on it (had friend who lost because her belt was tied unevenly, but just slightly so!). I think it's a very good uniform for price, especially if you're not paranoid about your appearance.

I ordered one for myself and my son. I ordered a 5 for me and a 00 for my 5 year old. I tried mine on and found it is narrow (not wide enough) around my torso. I'm a bit thick in the trunk so I figured I probably should have ordered a size 6 top. However when my son tried his on he had the same issue when tying the top together it would be too snug around his middle and he is NOT thick around the middle at all. I'm 5 foot 9 inches & 210 LBs so I ordered my size exactly. The jacket is long enough and the pants are a bit too long but can be tailored. I'm going to try a Size 6 top and Size 4 pants to see how that combo works for me. Either way I'll have to get my Gi (any brand I get) tailored a bit as I've got a bit of a long torso and short-ish legs.

I have the middleweight uniform in Black and am very happy with it. This one though did not come out in the same high quality. I washed it once to get some of the stiffness out and both the top and bottom have started to bauble (when the threads or fabric start to raise in like tiny loose balls). Also the sizing chart convinced me to go a size lower than my gut instinct (its been a while since i bought one and I had thought maybe the sizes had changed). Its fine for practicing twice a week, just not upto the usual high standards one comes to expect. As a general word of advice from someone who usually trains with a black gi. Stay away from all sources of dirt or possible dirt :). The white gis get dirty and stain very easily.

This uniform was PERFECT for my sons karate class! It's lightweight enough for a beginner (he's a green belt) but durable enough to withstand a 5 year olds treatment of it. I have been very happy with this product!

This was the first gi I purchased from Karate Depot. It is now a year old and still in excellent condition despite frequent use and washings! It is very nice quality for everyday use. Sizing chart was right on target. Thanks for a great product.

This has to be one of the best semi-medium weight uniforms I have ever used. I use this particular model for all of our students. It gives them a sturdy uniform at a very good price that will last as opposed to the cheapies many schools use. Some of our uniforms have frayed a bit but I think that's more because of our washing method as opposed to the uniform material or quality being bad. Make sure to wash in cold water and let it air dry. I always iron out the creases and it holds a good press. One complaint I have: if you normally wear a 5, get a 6. They are cut a little bit differently. So get one size higher and you should be fine (tailor to fit). I have no complaints on the pants.

This gi was much more than I expected for the price. It was quite large-fitting when new but after washing (in cold water) and drying it shrunk to a perfect fit. I'm slim (5'11; 150 lbs.) and a size 5 fits perfectly. I was concerned that a cotton blend fabric would be uncomfortable, but this gi is more comfortable than the heavy 100% cotton canvas gi it replaces. It feels heavier than the 8.5 oz. weight suggests and holds it shape well. It doesn't feel like a cheap, lightweight gi and has a nice drape over the body. It's too early to comment about durability. The white belt that came with it is thin and cheap.

I bought two of these for my kids starting SKA karate. Even compared to my Tokkaido heavy weights these are very nice quality. These are a fantastic deal and much better for kids. The supplied white belts seem a little short, but sizing otherwise seems accurate.

I considered the heavier gi, but this one seems perfect. It shrank a little, even though I washed it in cold water so be careful, maybe even order a full size larger than you normally wear.
I got the size 5. I am about 5' 10'', and I'm nervous to wash it in hot water now for fear it might shrink more.
For the price, you can NOT beat it.

The uniform came very timely. I ordered a size 4 which is right for height and weight and maybe next time will order a size up because it does shrink even in the cold wash. For me the pants fit fine but wish I had a little more room in the top although once in class I don't notice anything. The material is great and would recommend to anyone.

Thought is would be perfect - a little disappointed

I thought from the reviews that this would feel like a medium weight uniform. Feels more like a light weight uniform to me and does not wash up as well as the 100% cotton uniforms I have from Pro Force (this is a blend). The sizing for the top was tight even though I bought a size that should have fit me if I was 25lbs heavier. Somewhat disappointed in the overall quality and fit, especially the top. The bottoms fit fine and were suitable for the wear and tear they normally endure.

I was impressed with the quality of the KD Elite Middleweight uniform I purchased. I was concerted with the size chart. I had seen many size charts on-line, and all were slightly different. But your size chart was right-on. The uniform fits perfect. The price was the best I found, and I was very happy with the fast delivery.

Great uniform. Well worth the cost but keep in mind to go with the smaller size if you are in between two on the chart.

I've owned 3 other Gi's in the past and this is by far the best one. It's sold as a middle weight uniform but it borders on heavy weight. After 3 months of use it's still like new. I highly recommend the KD Elite uniform.

This uniform is a little larger than those made by Bold or Macho, so if you think that you're in between sizes, go a size under. I noticed it when I put it on, but it's not so much that I noticed it after 5 minutes into practice.

This is a nice uniform, with good stitching and durability.

Coming from a Century middleweight uniform that cost me $49.95, I was expecting lesser quality. After about a week, if anything the quality of the KD Elite uniform is better and the material is a little heavier, which I like.
