The KD-Elite uniforms are medium weight are perfect for the real heavy striker's / kicker's. I have used all the expensive brand's over my 30 years in the art's . And can tell you 1st hand that these uniform's can take a ripping. I have studied in the lineage of Cha Yon Ryu - Goju-Ryu - Kempo ( Ryukyu ) - Kenpo - Kobo-Jutsu - Wado-Ryu as well as Kyokushin-Kai . So I feel I have been through the ringer of Styles and put in many years to make such a bold statement. These Uniforms will take the beating when needed. My last bit of advise is it's all about the doing & not the talking. If you do purchase these KD-Elite uniforms I do suggest you purchase the next size up from what you wear now. I purchased the set and when I received it it looked great and I had to have it for a tournament, so I had the pants hemmed the day I got them. The pants fit fine, but when I tried on the top it says the size I ordered but it fits like it's 2 sizes to small. I called to see if I could exchange just the top and I was told no,bit I could return the set and buy the pieces separately. Unfortunately I couldn't send the set back because i'd already paid for the hem, and I would lose money on that,the order and shipping back,also the price of the pieces individually,so I guess I am stuck with it. Will no better next time not to order set...   Permalink

This is a great product at any price let alone this inexpensive price. I've bought this for my son who has been doing Kenpo for 9 years and I keep coming back for the same uniform. Never tore, loose stitching, no problems. He wears this for jiu jitsu as well and it takes that too.  Permalink

Im originally a 6 so i got a 6 and it didnt fit the jackets too small. then ordered an 8 and it fits but a little tight still ......i just bought a 6 from karate mart and it fits PERFECT   Permalink

Ive had uniforms from pretty much ALL brands and i just got this one delivered 10 mins ago...... the fabric is grea but theres one problem IT DOESNT FIT!!!!! all my life ive been a 6 my other uniforms are 6!!!! and they fir perfect.... this thing fits tight ....UGH lesson learned   Permalink

Others have already posted a good deal of info about this uniform but I'll add a little to the discussion too:

5 Stars given for the low price & high value of this gi. That said while this uniform is advertised as Middleweight I would personally call the material lightweight. What EVERYONE else refers to as lightweight material I call "paperweight material" FWIW.

If your a big, tall fattie like me (last night I was working out with a local Goju-Ryu instructor who jokingly said, "Hey Bman, you better spend less time power lifting and start jogging again as your almost fat enough to be a Kenpo Grand Master"... I have never and now will never tell him that I also earned a dan ranking in Chinese Kenpo in my youth;-) who wears a size 7 or 8 Made in Japan or M-I-USA uniforms I'd suggest that you purchase this black M-I Pakistan Gi TWO or perhaps 3 sizes LARGER that your usual premium gi and hem as needed.

I'm 6'4 and weigh 358 lbs and the jacket sleeves (size Ju)were about an inch and a half too long and unless you play in the NBA you will probably have to hem the pants too... The elastic band pants sure beats the old tie-string designed pants IMO.

For $29.95 with ALMOST free FedEx Ground Shipping the purchase of this gi was a nobrainer. I ordered on a Tues. afternoon and it arrived THE NEXT DAY.

Now that is what I call EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE... THANKS Karate Depot!!!

I am 5' 6.5", 164 pounds, with broad shoulders. This Gi in size 4 fits perfectly and should remain that way with washing in cold water and hang drying. The polyester blend will not hold sweat (thus less odor) compared to 100% cotton, since it breathes better. As with other Gi's, I love the elastic waist band for excellent comfort and fit. I wish one could pick a belt color -- not just white.  Permalink

I've had the opportunity to wear my new uniform a couple of times and I am very pleased with the fit and comfort of it. As a mid weight gi it is cut with enough room to allow movement for any of my techniques or katas but it is also cut just right so as to be a good fit. The sizing chart was correct and overall I am very pleased with my purchase. I would recommend this uniform to anyone who is looking for a mid weight gi at an affordable price.  Permalink

I just started studying shorei-ryu karate and wanted a heavier uniform than what was provided from my sensei and stumbled upon this site. this is an awesome gi it is extremely comfortable I highly recommend this uniform for any karate student its so awesome I just purchased a white one and another black one  Permalink

This uniform has a very nice feel to it. Legs have plenty of room for kicks. The legs are slightly pegged, so they are a little harder to hem than some other styles. The top is of a different style than others I've had in the past, they don't wrap all the way around to my side. Judging from the length of the ties this is by design and not just because I'm overweight. I mention these things so other buyers are aware, not as criticism because I really do like this gi.  Permalink
