The mask is good and does not restrict vision or breathing. The hood is a bit uncomfortable but its strong and you can definitely use it to hide in the dark.

Amazing is the word I'd use. You can tie it in various shinobi styles such as tokagura, iga, and genbukan. I highly recommend you read a book on how to tie these things. If you put the mask on first, it is way more revealing and as a ninja you don't want that.
