Maternity Tang Soo Do

I am 20 weeks pregnant and while my Tang Soo Do top can still be worn none of my pants fit any more. I am 5'10" and am growing every day in the belly and I thought if I ordered these in a 7 I could wear them and still train throughout the remainder of my pregnancy. I wasn't sure if these are proper for Tang Soo Do and if anyone has been in the same predicament I would appreciate any advice. Thanks!

Hi hazel. While these might not be specifically for Tang Soo Do, they are definitely close enough to function for you. I'd say give it a try, and remember to play it safe during that pregnancy :-).

Not what I paid for

I ordered two pairs of Macho brand karate pants for my child. What I got was two generic off-brand pairs of karate pants. Not what I ordered and paid for. Won't use this website again if they continue with this type of false advertising!

Nice practice pants!

I got these for my daughter who just moved up a size in pants from a 000 to a 00. Overall I really like these for her - they look great, wash up nicely, and fit comfortably for class. I'd definitely buy these again!

Right now a size 4 would be best for him I think. As he continues to grow, he'll definitely need a size 5.

Hope this helps!

Hi Tracy. I think you'll be safe with the size 5, just cuff the pant legs and sleeves.

If you achieve that weight lose you can get a size down to a 4 (that would be a great reward to yourself!)

What Size Pants?

I'm 5'2" and wear an 18/20 in women's. I recently had a baby so my waistline is still larger than I'd prefer so I don't want anything tight. I know I'm going to have to hem the pants, that's okay, but I'm looking for loose comfortable pants that I don't have to worry about ripping at the seams.

I was very disappointed in the pants. When first trying them on they were about 3" too long. After I washed them they were 2" too short. Same size as the smaller size I was replacing them with. With 2 children in Karate, I don't want to order anything else from this company.

You're going to have those issues with uniform pants no matter where you purchase them Bonnie, it just takes a little experience to know what size to buy. Also, I'd recommend washing gi pants in warm/cold water and letting them hang dry so as to minimize shrinking.

We also offer this video which might help in the future - http://www.karatedepot.com/video-16-How-to-properly-Size-a-Gi-martial-arts-uniform.html.

Great quality at an awesome price!!!

These pants are a great. I had purchased a uniform through my martial arts school and the pant waistline was pretty tight for a size 7. I was extremely satisfied to find out that when I received these pants and tried them on that they were much looser around the waist. I am a size 40-42 and they were still very comfortable. Unless you're 7 foot tall, you will need to have the length taken up a bit. Supper fast shipping also, thanks Macho and Karate Depot

Excellent pants, great price

These fit well and are comfortable to wear while working out. I get a decent snap from these even though it's only 7oz material. As far as picking size, I would rely on waist then height.

What size?

I'm 6'9? 190lbs, 34" waist, 38" inseam. Quite tall and lanky. I would like to get some pants that aren't too huge. It's OK if they're a little short, I'd rather have that than have too much fabric gathered around the waist. What size would your recommend?

I think the size #7 is going to be your best compromise between length and width. Expect a little bunching around the waist, but nothing that will hinder your training.

My son is 5'6" and weighs 100 pounds. his waist is 28". should we order a size 4 or will it swallow him up?

My recommendation is to go with these pants in a size 3. That will give you a baseline for where your son fits with sizes. Since these pants are so inexpensive you can then get a full size 3 gi for him later, or adjust the sizing as you go.

Most karate style pants are cut similarly so brand difference won't affect things much.

great pants

Was unsure of what size to order as I am a girl, short, and plus sized on my bottom half. Spoke with customer service and followed their recommendation. They fit perfectly after hemming (which I knew I would have to do). Least expensive Karate pants I have found online, they shipped VERY FAST, and the quality is great. Pants fine

The pants were good, especially for the price, the customer service was not. I ordered the pants the day after the top I ordered and 3 days after the top was shipped I emailed to ask if I could pay extra for the expidited shipping. I then called a day later and was told the credit card did not go through. No one bothered to contact me and I'm not sure if I would even hve them now if I did not call. Regardless of the quality of the pants, I would not go back to this retailer.

I had issues as well. Ordering online that is. I noticed my prodcut that I paid for 2nd day air didn't arrive withing the time frame and was still showing in processing. I contacted them via telephone and talked to them several times. They made it right and fixed my issue, giving me a refund for the shipping. I was advised that they have had issues with their computer system in the warehouse, which is where your order goes when you order online. It goes directly to the warehouse. The must have worked on their customer service since your experience because they were great with me and stayed in touch to make sure I got my items. I would give them another shot but order by phone. Just a suggestion. They are the cheapest out there right now for any Martial arts needs. Ive shopped around and can only say that they are the best quality for the money and my experience was good with customer service. Sometimes you do get customer no service with some online retaliers but this one is definately not it. They have been great with me thus far. But ordering by phone is far more simple, since you can get the answers you need asap instead of waiting like I did the first time around.

I have a gi now, with the pants very, very tight. I'm 5'6", 175 lbs, and ordered a size 4, but the pants really cut me in half. I want some pants that are looser in the waist. Do these pants have to be tied, or are they elastic and tight?

The great thing about these pants as that they have an elastic waist which are quite stretchy indeed. If you'd like you can size up to a 5 and cuff the legs, or go with the 4 and rely on the elasticity.

Great replacement pants

My 8 year old daughter has been doing Karate for a year, and outgrew her uniform pants but not her jacket. Ordering pants only through the gym cost almost as much as a new uniform, so we are happy we found these.

They are very comfortable, but still a little stiff. We wash them once or twice a week, and so far they are holding up well.

We removed the Karate Depot logo tag- it was rather large, and more importantly, we do not want to advertise the religious symbol.

Ziggy - Yes I would recommend going with the size 4. If it is a hair long, you can just cuff the pant legs and sleeves. If you go with the 3 and it is too small, you don't have many options outside of exchanging it for a bigger size.

I'm a bigger gal just starting karate. the gi I purchased through my sensei was just a little too snug to be comfortable so I bought these. The fit is great (though of course I had to alter the hems to fit my height) but they aren't overly stiff upon opening. The seams look strong and I'm very happy.

I was initially concerned about buying a karate pant other than the Macho brand that we use at our tae kwon do school. Took our chances & bought the KD, Middleweight pant & are very happy that we did! The quality & fit are excellent. They hold up well in the washer too. Thank you!
