These boards are very good

Rebreakable Boards

I use these boards all the time. My school uses yellows, greens and blacks for local tournaments but only because wood just gets too expensive for some of the competitors. These boards break more consistently at a given force than the variability of wood. I am up to 4 blacks and my son is at 2 blacks for side kicks. Another commentor is correct in that the board equivalent listed is for 10x12x1" pine boards. These boards are good for several thousand breaks but do start going lower than rated number of boards after that. For an individual that usually isn't a problem but for a school - keep that in mind.

Answer to: Does anyone think my son,,,,, an eleven year old 1st degree black-belt could break a brown? He is breaking brown . . .
Rebreakable Boards

Yes - definitely. My son is 10 and is working to consistently break 2 blacks on first try with standing side kick (about 75% of the time currently).

Also I agree with okien108 - children shouldn't be doing punch breaks. I would limit them to knife-hand breaking and not too often at that either. With kicking you can be a bit more lax.
