I bought this for my 7 year old daughter for her TaeKwonDo class. All the other bokkens were way to big. It is also very well made and heavy. I'm glad I was able to find one that fit her. Also you can't beat the shipping speed and the wonderful price.

The quality of this short sword is amazing. I have been practicing since its arrival yesterday, and its stood up against my friends longer lasting bokken very well, and because he and I have been training for years together we hold nothing back, and blow for blow my new sword held strong with out a ding, dent, scuff, or mark. The weight of sword is heavier than it looks, but not to heavy or light to be any sort of hindrance.

      Nice, heavy, tough

I am an adult and I purchased this for myself as an alternative to the far too short, far too light SHOTO....and it does succeeded as a good practice short sword. I also find this handy as a training substitute for the medieval German Messer. Short, heavy, and solid... do with it whatever you want. The tsuba doesn't fit close when does that EVER occur? A little electrical tape will help make the fit sound.

      amazing!!

I have been studying the art of Kendo for about 7 years, and I have seen these kinds of bokken before, but not with this quality.
But I must admit that my sword is a bit chipped from constant practicing. I was a bit curious about the true strength of the sword, so I took it up against my sharpened katana, and I must say it put up a very good fight. I personally recommend this bokken for beginners and even those with years of experince. Besides for the shortness and light weight, it is overall an excellent training weapon of choice.

My friend Andrew purchased three of these bokkens him, his brother, and I had some intense battles with them. No one got hurt. It has amazing how realistic these weapons were fast and hard striking and were able to withstand a real good beating before they eventually broke.

      Still lasts!

I posted a review of this a llllooong time ago. As you can see if you scroll down. Well it's been a while, i've ive almost had a full year of Hapkido training(As i said i would be starting something soon). I still use it, the same one i bought about a year ago. It's a BIT dented, but still works PERFECTLY. Good buy.

      Great for kids

I bought this item for my younger brother when I noticed him having trouble handling my white oak bokken, which was too long and heavy for him. He is easily able to handle this ''youth'' bokken, even though he is only 11! This item is great for kids that cannot handle the heavier bokkens, but not for adults. The weight is perfect.

I dropped out of kendo, and is practicing on my own for now, and trying to learn HIten mitsurugi ryu to, for i have heard it is a fast attack and defence style.

      This is awesome

I'm 13, this has helped me (especially with the 'girls can't fight' thing). I'm trying to teach myself Hiten Mitsurugi and Battojutsu. I have been training myself with tobacco sticks, and making a wild guess at how much a real sword weighs. The tobacco sticks break easily, where the bokken I got doesn't break easily.

      how strong

This item is very very useful to my training. It is weighted like a real samurai sword without the dangers of using sharp swords. Me and my friend have been practicing since march. It is also good for strength training because of its weight. If you want to practice for speed and strength, I say this is the best weapon to buy.
