      This is a slim bokken made from lightweight bamboo. It has a unique profile which features a standard width hilt but the blade is quite thin to further reduce weight making it an excellent choice for demonstrations.The wood has been given a deep glossy finish to help prevent chipping.This bokken measures 40.5" in length and 10 oz in weight, making it just as long as regular bokkens but at a fraction of the weight!

    This one is beautiful; nice shape and well balanced. I did not get easily tired on my wrist during my sword practice. I want to recommend this beauty to especially those whom have wrist issues like me - you won't feel any weight from the sword. Delivery service was awesome - it was delivered faster than estimated time and provided good tracking system.

    Samurai Lite

    Ideal for instructors who teach several classes a day. This is a beautiful weapon, well balanced and much lighter than its ash or redwood cousins. Sings when you strike. Highly recommended.

    How durable is this product? i was assuming that it being lighter would reduce the amount of hits it'll be able to take but then i saw it was bamboo making me think it's gonna be very resistant but i'm just not sure.

    It's definitely a little less resilient than your typical red oak bokken. But like you said the bamboo does help it take some contact.

    Purcased this for girlfriend who needed a lighter weight bokken. this proved perfect for building skills and form. Full size and very good balance. The price is good and the service from these guys is great!

    I purchased one of these out of curiosity, and was very please by it. The weight of the weapon is like holding air - sometimes I move too fast with it. And the grooves cut in the side make a chirping sound when you cut with the blade aligned properly, giving you instant feedback about whether your blade is flat or not. A great tool, most of the students in my classes that study sword are now carrying this in addition to their hardwood bokken. Thumbs up!
