This bokken is made from sturdy oak and has been stained to a beautiful deep glossy finish. The Cord Wrapped Wood Bokken measures 39 inches long and is the perfect instrument for practicing, demonstrations and training. This bokken also has a traditional cord-wrapped handle that not only provides a comfortable grip but also adds to its aesthetic value and authentic look. The Cord Wrapped Wood Bokken will look great on a display stand and work well as a training weapon. A two-piece hand guard is included. The bokken is available in two colors, Black with yellow cord wrapping, or cherry stained with black cord wrapping.

My 7yr old daughter uses this for training. It is a great fit for her. The item is high quality wood and the handle has not loosened at all in the year we have had it. Very highly recommended Permalink

Looks aren't everything

This Bokken is what I expected but contact will leave this one rattled. Best for forms which I use instead of a Broadsword for tai chi a little light but id say a good starter . Great finish on the blade but, looks aren't everything. Permalink

You get what you pay for

As long as you don't use this bokken for contact purposes, which it is not intended for, you are in the clear. The bokken itself is a little too light, but may be better suited well for a child. The handle wrap is woven nylon which will start to fray and come loose after 4 hours of solid practice. The actual craftsmanship is disappointing...porous wood, riddled with knots, not straight, and no continuity in the width of the blade. You will more than likely have difficulty getting the Tsuba down to the handle, and it won't fasten securely when put on. In all fairness, this bokken is only $10, so you get what you pay for. Good for forms, but expect it to break quickly if you decide to use it for contact. Permalink

Beautiful finish and great buy!

This is the nicest bokken I own and I use it to practice foot and hand work. It came with a very slight bow to the left and has not caused any problems for practice. The finish on this bokken is very nice and I hate to use it when training with another person, and usually use one of my other bokken. This is a great buy for the money. Permalink
