The new Ash Bokken from KD Elite has been expertly crafted from durable and lightweight ash wood.This bokken gives you the strength and longevity of traditional red oak bokken but reduces the weight.The reduced weight makes this bokken better for training because it is easier to maneuver.The blade measures 30" and the handle is 10".The overall weight of this practice sword is 1.25 pounds, making it an excellent choice for demontrations, training or even just display.A hand guard is included with the bokken.

Chunky!

This bokken is really nicely balanced, and a good shape, it just feels ever so slightly over-size. By that I mean that it is thicker and heavier than other bokkens I've seen, although admittedly they have all been more for solitary practice, rather than sword-to-sword sparring. This one is probably more durable as a result. Permalink

$8 more than retail price

I shattered a glass lampshade with it (on accident) and it made a big gash in it, and this isn't even the bokken I ordered! When practicing indoors have money on hand to pay for the damages. Permalink

what i expected

they are pretty light, bought these for sparing with my friend however there are no tsuba for either of the bokken i ordered. without a tsuba it renders them useless for sparing unless you want to get your knuckles beat up. they appear to be of good quality and look as if they can take a beating.
