It's probably a good idea to avoid walking on hard surfaces while wearing the ashiko.

Hi C.T. Yea you would probably want to avoid public property with these as they are designed to dig in. Also if your neighbors like their trees maybe avoid those too. However, if you happen to have some climbable stuff on your property have fun and be safe.

You can use these with regular shoes too, although they are designed to function with tabi so there is less of a gamble there for effectiveness.

You can use these with regular shoes too, although they are designed to function with tabi so there is less of a gamble there for effectiveness.

These are less effective with the slippers. The slippers don't provide the solid base and structure for the metal to work with, and therefore slip around a lot more.

These are a wonderful tool if you are going to be climbing trees or wooden posts, but if you are going to use them you might want to find a better way to attach them to your tabi boots if that is what you are going to use them with, and also if you walk in the woods with these on leaves will get stuck and cake up on the bottom
