Very light! This is for show and practice swings only. If you hit something with this it WILL break! Should really get one of the oak ones if you plan on hitting anything with it.

I honestly think I was sent the wrong product, because from the other reviews and the pictures, this looks like a decent-quality bokken. However, it is very light and thin. The blade tapers down on the sides towards the tip, which makes me think that I could just snap it off in one clean hit. I've owned ninja bokken before, both a lot heftier than this, and they didn't last long enough, so I don't have good expectations for this one. The fact that the tip is tapered on the sides, and the very tip of the bokken is quite sharp makes me think that this might not be very safe for practice, either.

Don't Waste your money for this one. Get the White oak Ninja bokken if you are one of those peoples that Have training outside and alone. Am a Yellow belt in Ninjutus. My Training is Done by I.B.D.A. or Internationl Bujinkan Dojo Association.

This is a good prop for a costume. The cuts on the sword are no precision and it is not balanced at the handle so this would only be used for beginner practice, I would think. The rubber ring that comes with the Bokken to hold the guard in place works fine, but I would also recommend using Gorilla wood glue if you plan to spar or hit things with it. It's a nice sword and if you're using it for a prop- 5 stars. If you're actually wanting to train with it..3 stars.

This bokken looks good, but after a few hits it gets really beat up.

    Good for show

This wooden bokken came with my ninja suit and was great. It has a very nice weight and feel to it. My only concern with it is the durability. I was practicing with a friend and he snapped it in half with a very weak hit. I would buy more than one of these if you intend to do any combat training with it.

    Great Bokken!!!

The guard did not come with it, and it broke the first 5 minutes I was using it.

This sword helped me progress to 3rd level. It probably also saved me from a bad reputation.

    Awesome product

I purchased one of these about a month ago. After at least 2 dozen full contact duels with my friends the finish is barely coming off the edges! Great quality, but the tsuba stopper is a little loose. A quick fix with some black duck tape and it's looking marvelous.

This sword aint all that bad. Nice and light, not to mention durable. My only problem is that the paint chipped a little, and the tsuba was a bit loose. But it took a good beating and i thinks that's what matters the most.

a nice buy for a ninja!

A very nice buy especially for the price. I've taken this baby up against my friend's metal sharpened katana and all that's there is a few scratches. The only problem is the fact that the black finish comes off easily, so if you\'re gonna use it, don\'t expect it to be a pretty display piece, but the quality is awesome, a comfortable grip, authentic length, and all around good. The only other problem is the tsuba (handguard) it is meant to be held on with a white removable rubber stopper which comes off easily, but some black duct tape fixes that nicely. :)

    This is a great sword

This sword is great but when i got it I found that the rubber piece that holds the tsuba on was a little too big. I fixed it and it stays on just fine. The actual blade is very sturdy and can take a lot of damage. I recommend this sword to anyone who wants a high quality wooden weapon at an affordable price.
