Small should be fine. Also to get an accurate judgment for the shoe size, measure his foot in inches and compare it to the mens size on this chart - http://www.i18nguy.com/l10n/shoes.html

You'll be able to see the right adult mens size.

COOL!!!

got this in the mail on thursday and i was pleased with my purchased!im here to put my review on this item so here it goes....now im 5'10" and 160 lbs and i ordered a large size and good thing i did because an XL would have been way too big on me.although the sizing chart says otherwise i still got the large. with my height and weight, the large size still has a baggy feel to it. the jacket part fits perfectly, but the pants are BIG! i mean it stretches down to the ground and its really baggy...but the tabi boots that came with this costume compromised the length of the pants coz you can tuck it inside the boots and it will fit just fine!now speaking of tabi boots you should really buy the high cut boots if youre buying this uniform separately.it looks way cooler than the short ones! about the shoe size. you should definitely go down your original size coz this is not your regular tennis shoes, it doesnt have padding inside and i think it is made out of canvas like material(like coverse shoes). so definitely go down a size and it still fit you well.the mask on the other hand is a tad bit big on my head considering the fact that it's stretchable. not a problem though. the only downside about this review is the so called "instruction"...how do i put it into simple sentence....oh yeah it's like deciphering a bomb!crazy on how they come up with this how-to-instructions!all in all, i am satisfied now that i can be a ninja doing ninja things. hope this review helps for everyone that is unsure of the sizing

Size Help!

I'm 5'7 and 120 pounds. Should I go with the small or medium? I need good flexibility, comfort, and just a LITTLE tight, not too much, but just a little. Thank-You!

In the interest of flexibility I would probably recommend the medium. You would definitely fit in the small, but medium is playing it safe.

Hi Owen. I recommend a size small for the uniform. If your size 11 boot is in mens size and not childrens, then go with the 11 in ninja tabi as well.

Very Kool Uniform

Overall I am very pleased with what I got. For the price it cannot be beat. The jacket fits like a glove and feels good. The pants are really good. They feel comfortable to wear. The tabbi boots and socks are really good. Yes go a size down. Im 10.5. So I went with 10 and fits very good. The material is thick and not costumer like. Has a real good feel to it. The bokken is really kool. The mask is ok. The gauntlets are ok. Overall an excellent buy for anyone whos starting out to be a ninja.

Great Stuff

Ever since I was a kid I always wanted to wear a ninja costume so I bought this Deluxe one and am extremely satisfied. I am 6'3 223lbs and I ordered the XXL seeing that it is equal to XL clothes, the jacket fit perfectly but the pants are a little to big but with the ties the pants fit good. I wonder how an XL uniform would of fit me but i am extremely satisfied with my selection and going with the long tabi boots is the way to go it just looks awesome!! Highly recommend this uniform! Also I wear a size 13 shoe and ordered 13 tabi boots and they fit just right so I would suggest order to your size. Any questions don't hesitate to ask me.

Good buy

I read all the reviews before purchasing, and was hesitant about the size to buy (I am 6"1, 145lbs). I got a large, and it fits very well. As for the tabi boots, everyone had said to buy one size down, and a few said to buy the same size.. I went with my normal shoe size (12) and they also fit very well. The uniform is not made of cheap material and feels fairly durable.

As for the tabi boots .. very comfortable, easy to walk around in. They are very, very quiet (as advertised) except for the occasional sound of the Velcro moving, but you have to actually be listening for the sound to hear it, so it's minor.

The bokken appears to be fairly durable. It could survive some rough hits against hard objects and has a nice weight to it.

All in all, I'm happy with the buy.. for $60 you can't go wrong :)

Shinobi-nin
I went with an XXL sized uniform because I knew it would shrink after a washing and drying. I highly recommend hang drying. I also wear a 10 and 1/2 sized shoe, but went with size 10 Tabi Boots and they fit well. Definitely go smaller when choosing a size for the boots, rather than larger. I had to make some tailoring adjustments to one of the gauntlets as well, because one was poorly crafted and way too large compared to the other one. It turned out well.

You'll want to go with the size XL. If you like normal 11 tennis shoes go with an 11 boot, but if you need 11 wide bump up to a 12 boot.

I think a size small would be a snug fit and a medium would be looser but you would fit in either. We don't offer a sheath for the ninja bokken at this time; you would have to grab either this sword: wp-ke-55 or this sword: wp-ke-21.

Hope that helps!

DELUXE NINJA COSTUME

DELUXE NINJA COSTUME
Great Costume!!! Love the outfit! Everything fit great! The direction was kind of weird, but I figured it out. Nice cloth instead of cheap silky cloth. The tabi boots are very comfortable, I love them. Everything looks so cool! The only difference I did with mine was I sew some velcros on my hood and string to make them stay on my face tight and so they wont come loose. Oh and one other thing I liked was the Ninja Bokken. I painted my Bokken and made my own Sheath. Overall I would recommend this to everyone! Thanks alot!

Hi karatefan. While I think he could fit into a large, the XL is probably the safest choice for him, especially if it shrinks down in the wash a little. This uniform comes with boots, so opt for the size 13.

Uniform Quality Costume

My thirteen year old son ordered this. It was shipped quickly, and we are pleased with the value. The material is of the same quality as his karate uniform which we purchased through his dojo. I was impressed with all that was including in the package. The training sword is the same sword that they use at the local dojo as well. Thanks!

Pretty nice I suppose, I would love to write a longer review, but having just received mine from UPS, I was able to discover that they sent me the wrong size Tabi boots, ordered 13 or 47.5, they sent me size 12 or 46. Boots are unwearable as my heel hangs off the edge of the sole painfully. RMAing.

what size do you suggest i get?

really keen, just a little query about what you suggest for the sizes because i live in Australia;
male, thin and slightly broad shoulders.
height: 180cm = 5 foot, 11 inches.
weight: 70kg = 154 pounds.
shoe size: 27.5cm = 10.8 inches OR size 9 Australian = size 10 US/Canada.

I believe the size large would be the best fit for you. You should be fine with a size 10 boot as well.

Exactly how long is the Bokken? Is it good enough to practice martial arts?

This bokken is about 34" long. Fairly typical for a ninjutsu style piece.

A large would be ideal heightwise but might be a bit snug. The xl might be best overall.

good overall

This order came on time and all items were there. I liked it all and I am glad I got it. Somethings i think others might want to know before purchase are:
1. The mask goes over your head like a hockey mask it is pretty cool. Then the hood goes on top which is also cool but for me I think the hood came down too low over extending the top part of the slit in the mask. Still looks cool just a little big.
2.Sizing, I am 6 feet 2 inches tall and only 160 ish pounds. I got the large and it fits pretty well, the jacket fits perfectly (but if you want the jacket to close I would suggest tying a belt around your waist, black is the color that looks the coolest and I am just a brown belt). The pants looked pretty big but when you put them on you have to to put the back around you and tie it and the front around you and tie it. This allows you to adjust the pants to your waist size so when purchasing I would think most people wouldn't need to worry about the waist size too much.
3.The Tabi, are fastened with Velcro. This means they don't tighten to your leg size when you put them on. The top of the boots are too loose for me and when you have the legs of the pants over the boots and you tie the straps around the pants it makes the boots pull down for me. Also they are made partially with hot glew it looks like, I was perfectly fine with this though and it wasn't a suprise because I read a different review.
4. The sword, it is plastic and bends easy. I just wanted the sword for fun and it provides that but don't expect an expert training sword. The sword was great for me and if it got bent a little I can bend it back and make it pretty much straight.

Overall I loved it I just want to inform people more about the product I hope this is helpful and if anyone chooses to buy this I hope they enjoy it aswell.

Size help needed for my 7 yr old son.

I want to get this deluxe ninja costume for my son. He is 7 years old about 4 feet tall shoe size is 7 1/2 inches (size 1 in kids) I was thinking the xxsmall in the costume would be ok but not sure for the boot. What do you recommend?

Hi Raquel. I agree that XXsmall would be a good fit.

As for the boots - the long tabi don't come in small enough sizes. I recommend checking out the short tabi here - wp-ni-90, and going with the size 3 boot.

You can order a separate shoe size, but you'll have to try the xxl as a set.

Buying the costume for a big guy

I'm buying a costume for a good friend of mine. He's about 6' to 6'2" and over 300lb. I realize this may be a stupid question but do you think the XXL Costume will work for him? His foot size is 13.

Well it depends on how much weight your friend holds around the waistline. The xxl definitely has a chance at fitting but we can't guarantee that.

The shoe size at 13 should not be a problem.

Traning

Is the quality of this suit so I train and fight in this down in my local ninjitsu dojo or does I need a black karate dogi?

The quality will hold up to routine training, but I think the best bet is for you to check with your instructor and see which style of uniform he/she recommends.

Bokken: Plastic or Wooden

I am reading the reviews and a customer complained about the plastic bokken, however on 5/23/11 there was an answer that said this set comes with a wooden bokken. Which is correct: WOODEN OR PLASTIC?

The bokken is a light wood. Good for demonstration, although it can only handle light contact.

Advise for the Larger Ninja

What sizing would you suggest for those of us that possess larger portions?

For instance, I am @ 5' - 10" and @ 300 ... under 325-ish .... with men's shoe @ 10.5

I think you'll want to go with the xxl. Weight-wise it's the best bet, and height-wise you'll be able to cuff or hem the extra length.

As for shoes, 11 or 12 should be fine.

Overly good but...

Let's start with the good stuff
1) It really is a pretty cool suit which gives a great feeling
2) customer service are really helpful through email/ phone
3) Everyone got here safely and neatly.
Now I do have some issues with it:
1) International orders WILL NOT get to you quickly I paid more money for the shipment than the actual product, and it was disappointing to get it late.
2) The Tabi boots seem a bit poor made, and they didn't have a size 10 1/2 so I ordered 11 a bit big.
3) it's annoying that there is no way to really close the Jacket.
4) You will spend at least 2 hours to understand how to tie your pants properly.

All and all the rest of the equipment seems fine the Boken is not wood it's made out of black plastic and looks like a toy not like what the picture show.

The suit does give a very good feeling on you, all and all it's not a perfect fit you will have to play with it to get it fixed on yourself but the guys at the website give very good suit- size Advice.

And they send really high Quality Tabi Socks.

size

boyfriend is 6'5 and 253 pounds. What size? If I order it on 12-14-2011, will it be here in time for xmas? And is it of good quality like a Gi is made of canvas/cotton. I need it to look authentic, not like a halloween costume. Thank you

Hi Kiki. I believe he would fit in the xl, although the xxl would provide some extra breathing space. The quality is quite good and does mimic that of other martial arts uniforms.

In terms of shipping, when you add this to your cart and goto checkout the website will give you predicted arrival times. You may have to select a more expedient option, like 2nd day air, etc.

Don't buy

Jacket is too small. Pants are too big and horribly confusing to fasten. One of the arm guards is missing the finger strap. The eye hole of the mask is horrbly uneven. Terrible buy, hands down.

How to put on the pants

I tried the way the video did it, but apparently the long straps are suppose to be in the front and the short ones in the back. Any other way to tie this besides following the video?
