Made from strong red oak wood, the San Setsu-Kon is a variation of the nunchuck made of three equal-length sections of wood. It has been sanded smooth and has a glossy finish. The octagon shape adds weight and aids in blocking weapon strikes. The total length of this item is 45" with a 1 1/4" diameter.

Better than Three Section staff

This is an excellent product. This is a unique weapon and as mentioned before if your familiar with Nunchucks they really aren't that hard to pick up. I bought these as I tried to branch into some more non-traditional weapons and purchased a Three Section Staff. Being familiar with nunchucks I figured it would be an easy transition. Ha-ha, I found out later that the three section version of the nunchucks is working much better than the man sized staff, at least for me. The finish and quality of the chucks are great, I also would have liked to seen a ball bearing version of this product but the cords aren't too bad. Just a tip for veteran nunchucks users, try to remember that there is an extra section flailing around, and it seems to be attracted to elbows and knees....

A physics degree is required for proper use:)

I was expecting the 3 piece staff (totaling 6 feet), but this is just as described a 3 piece NUNCHUCK. That is certainly better for me anyway because if each section were any longer I'd have octagon shaped bruises on my face. Really a fun weapon to use, especially if you enjoy traditional nunchaku. *Please note that the center nunchuck is a slightly different color than the outer two (not shown in the picture). In the two pair that I ordered, one middle chuck was slightly lighter, one was slightly darker. Didn't look bad at all though.

i recently bought these san-setsu-kon nunchucks after focusing on nunchucks for about a year now and found them rather easy to pick up. i dont recomend them for someone who doesnt understand the physics of a traditional nunchuck. but other than that they are a lot of fun and much more versatile that the 2 piece. i would like to have seen a ball bearing and chain connection on these instead of the cord but its fairly easy to replace when it breaks. which if you use them constantly is about once every 2 weeks. all in all i enjoy them thoroughly but a ball bearing chain would make them awsome.
