I purchased this speed chucks for the size. It's concealable or more portable. I practiced on 12 inch chucks for a year and moved to these. The speed on these things are a huge increase. There are some new tricks I can do with these but also some new limits with shorter handles. I highly recommend these if you are planning on using them for self defense. Permalink

I purchased these chucks after having traditional lightweights for a few years. They are extremely fast and effective. The smaller handles take a little getting used to, but once you master them they are untouchable. The wood is red oak, and solid. The ball bearings are fast and quiet. These are not for beginners, but an excellent purchase for intermediate or advanced practitioners. Permalink

These are some well-made chucks, evenly weighted with solid construction. The chains and ball-bearings are noisy, but that's not really an issue unless you're planning some stealthy ninja action. Permalink
