I have been practicing nunchaku for 20 years now and these are perfect for the beginner and veteran alike...very light weight and smooth action....if your thinking about getting these do it, they are great for practice Permalink

These are my second pair of nunchucks, and I love them. I have one other pair of hardwood chucks(the others are plastic/foam) with a chain that are heavier than these, so I'm still getting used to the weight difference. These are great for beginners transitioning from foam to real nunchucks. My only complaint about them is that I had to re-adjust the strings a little bit, but that only took me a minute to fix. That's why I gave them 4 stars. So in short I am very happy with my new nunchucks. They are a great buy. Thanks Karate Depot! Permalink

I just started training with nunchaku and these have been perfect, when I first got them the cord was a bit too short but I was able to lengthen it, also the paint has been chipping off but its not a big deal. I really prefer the cord to chains. I've had these for about two weeks and am very satisfied with them Permalink

I am realizing that I should have gotten foam since I'm only beginning, but if I could stop hitting my head I'd say they are a reasonable price. They weigh about as much as a light broom and for those beginners-go for foam and save your mom the medical bills. Permalink

An excellent set of nunchucku. I do recommend to shorter set to most people though I got the longer and they took some getting used to. And it might be wise to also get a repair kit because a lot of practice will wear down the cord quickly. Permalink

I overlooked the fact that these are described as lightweight when I ordered them. I am used to 14 inch rosewood or teakwood nunchucks of the same style and which are significantly heavier. These are a lot less dangerous than my original pair and I am therefore disappointed in that. But they are lightweight as advertised so it is my fault. So these are a toy by comparison. Permalink

I bought this as a second pair of chucks and I am definitely going to buy more. These control almost perfectly. They are light weight but still dangerous. I prefer these to chain chucks. I would definitely get these. A must have!!!! Permalink

As another reviewer mentioned, the cord isn't as long as it appears in the picture. Still, it was very easy to remove and add a longer and stronger cord. I am quite satisfied. Can't beat the price! Permalink

The cord length isn't a problem. if it's too short for you, change it.
Note : the standard size of rope or chain should be the width of your hand. Therefore, some people may find the rope just fine, or on the contrary too short or too long. Permalink

These chucks have a lot to offer for a roped pair. I find I favor these sometimes over my chain linked ones because the roped ones offer more control and give you more room to perfect style. I Recommend these to everyone looking to perfect their control and understanding of the physics of nunchaku. Permalink

I found this nunchaku to be very good for a beginning chucker' they are a good weight and allow for fast speeds while maintaining good control. My only qualm about this nunchaku is it comes with too short a cord between handles, only extensive practice with the chucks' will extend the cord. Permalink
