Nice surface finish and assembly. One feature I think is very good for beginners is the special shape of the handles that make it easy to hold in the right position when swinging. The weight is not heavy at all. So if you're a beginner, you might like to first practice with some heavier ones, once you're familiar with the basic tonfa moves, you can change to this light weight tonfa for sparring, demo, performance or whatever. These are excellent tonfa. The ashwood and construction are top notch. The weight, balance, and overall feel are wonderful. Mine have proven to be invaluable in both solo practice and in contact training against bokken, sai, and staves. I would recommend them for experienced of beginning practitioners; anyone in need of a stout, efficient weapon. Permalink
