Rattan Bo
Q.
Compared to an Oak Bo it is extremely light. Good for younger kids or when you just want something lighter to workout with. Or if you are sparring and don't want to kill each other. An oak Bo accidentally whacked upside the head hurts like crazy but this doesn't kill you if you accidentally get hit with it. I've used mine a lot and prefer it over the heavier Bo when I am trying to really get a new move down. But realize it flexes a lot more than say an oak Bo would. Which is not necessarily a bad thing just something to consider. I actually like the somewhat 'whipping' motion I can get out of it. And I agree with the guy below that these are tough but they do dent easily.

All rubber things are somewhat flexible and not realistic in that they bend and give but that is what makes them safe to practice with. This is stiff enough to work the techniques with but it does bend if you get jabbed with it. I have also used mine for several years without it breaking.

of the guy below me. These fit great, not like those baggy sacks that most gi's are. And they really do seem to hold up for a long time. I've washed mine lots and lots of times and I have taken many falls and throws in them and they are still going strong.

Q.
We always use these and the only time we had one break was when a kid was bending it in half several times and whipping it back and forth just to see how far it would bend. So yes, they can break, but they usually don't under normal practice. I've used mine for more than 6 years.

If you are tired of uniforms that fit in the shoulders but are about 3 sizes too big in the waist then you should check out the Macho uniforms. I was so tired of different gi's that were too short, too baggy, and just not pleasant to wear. I am 6' 2" and around 175 so I decided to give these a try and was really impressed. All my students wear these gi's now. They seem to hold up well. 7 years and counting and I haven't ripped one of these yet. Although, for the harder throws I do switch to a heavyweight top.

Q.
That's what I like about Macho GI. I am athletic build and most karate uniforms seem to be designed for people that are overweight. If I get a jacket that fits the pants will be WAY too big. And they are never long enough in the leg. Macho uniforms however fit me perfectly. I am 6' 2" about 170-175 and Macho is the best fitting GI I have.

Q.
Ok, I realize this was turned from natural wood, but this stick has many flaws. I was afraid it would shatter upon impact but it withstood a thrashing against a large tree so I guess its OK. the flaws are so obvious and ugly I had to cover it in vinyl tape to hide them. If not for strength of the wood I would have returned this one but I believe they may all have minor flaws. I don't use this stick to fight with I just show it to my class to let them know how strong a real escrima stick actually is vs. he padded one we use.

best knife ever!
these rubber knives are notoriously floppy, but these are made from nice stiff tire rubber! just like the ones I had as a kid. they might leave a bruise if you practice full contact, but how else do you learn? these are better than what I ever could have expected. this is the best knife for the money!

While I can't speak to the durability of this knife only having used it for a month, it certainly has done the job well so far at a great price. As mentioned in other reviews, it is hard enough so you know when you get hit but not hard enough to do real damage.

Q.
Bought for use with my self defense class, and practice out side of classes. I like how it's just hard enough to know when you get hit, but not hard enough to get injured. Has a bit of an edge on the blade, but not enough to actually cut you. Better than the ones that we have at my martial arts school.

I've used other blockers where the handle would come out of the foam, if you swung hard enough. I've bought this for the self defense class I'm teaching, and the students have really liked it so far.

Q.
These knives were just want I needed. I ordered two and now my husband and I can practice knife disarms, takedowns, etc at home. They're sturdy and flexible. They do seem like they might break off were the blade meets the handle after a while but we'll see how long it takes. For the price if they last six months I'll be happy.

A great value for the price, I use these in training for the Marines to knife fight and disarm attackers. They are sturdy enough that they've never broken and soft enough that nobody has ever been seriously hurt. The paint on the blade has a tendency to wear off after prolonged use but they still serve their purpose for training... great fun to practice with.

Rubber Practice Knife
Q.
This rubber knife is good for teaching and learning knife disarming techniques, I used these a number of times in my first year of shotokan karate. There is little chance of harming anyone with these. They are not overly flexible yet not too sturdy. They do break quite easily - the 'blade' breaks away from the handle after extensive use.

Q.
This weapon is good. It's lighter than I expected but of good quality. I would recommend it to anyone who want to focus mainly on technique. This is also good for light sparring but does leave marks on surrounding surfaces.

Rubber Practice Knife
Q.
The best knife for training, especially because of the price. The only down side is that the silver paint on the blade peels off. Otherwise, it bends nice but does not break from wear and tear.

Chrome Sais
Q.
Nicely balanced with good grip. I have never broken a pair and they are very comparable to higher priced sais. Only complaint is that the grip pad may come off eventually but this is easily fixed and grip tape is sold which is easy to put on in case the original grip does come off.
design: *****
weight & balance: *****
durability: ****

Q.
The Bamboo Fan is a very good weapon for traning and very good for beginners. This fan does have it's down sides, it is a lot lighter then metal fighting fans, and the fabric frays.... not such a big problem!

Great for training, one down side
The best knife for training, especially because of the price. The only down side is that the silver paint on the blade peels off. Otherwise, it bends nice but does not break from wear and tear.
